We got back a week ago from a wonderful trip to Russia

We got back a week ago from a wonderful trip to Russia. Before we refer to the trip itself, we’d like to note the consideration we were privileged with in planning the trip.
Dov was available for our questions, responded to all our requests in a dignified, serious, and especially trustworthy manner.
On the trip itself the organization was superb, from pick-up at the airport through quality, centrally located hotels, well-rounded, interesting and instructive itinerary and routes, wonderful tour guides and friendly drivers, the right combination of historical sites, gardens, museums, the metro, houses of worship of the different religions including synagogues and churches. In the evening there was free time that we took good advantage of for independent touring thanks to the excellent location of the hotel. Thus, we reached the illuminated Red Square on Friday evening on foot through pretty, aesthetically designed promenades, and we felt the special atmosphere of Moscow. It’s important to note the sense of security we felt, even at night, on our independent tours. The choice of the route and the sites we visited was very varied and interesting. The visit to the “Golden Ring Cities” (Vladimir, Suzdal, ,and Sergiev Posad) was very interesting and experiential.
Rita, our tour guide in Moscow, was pleasant, interesting, authentic – very knowledgeable in history and it was also interesting to discuss current affairs with her and today’s Russia as compared to the Communist period. She’s proficient in English, showed flexibility in matching the sites to our requests.
Leonid, our tour guide in St. Petersburg, a Hebrew speaker who lived in Israel for seven years during his childhood, is an excellent guide. He bought us a local SIM card. The fact that Leonid speaks Hebrew allowed us to learn from him about historical Russia in depth, about the Communist regime and about Russia today. Leonid has broad and profound knowledge and that contributed greatly to our enjoyment of the trip. Leonid managed to get us into museums without waiting on long, tiresome lines. His familiarity with the city and its surroundings is very impressive. We had a special personal experience when we arrived at a school for daughters of nobility where my grandmother studied as a girl. We saw the bridge on which she most probably stood when she watched the cruiser “Aurora” arrive in the city and she personally experienced the revolution of October 1917. Thank you to Dov for creating the opportunity and thank you to Leonid for the effort, for searching the internet for testimonies, and for the guidance.
In conclusion, it was an excellent trip, well organized, and experiential, highly recommended.
